Rambus Joins Verisity's Pure IP Program

Verification Toolkits Deliver Automated Methodology for IP Integration

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 2002--Verisity, Ltd. (Nasdaq:VRST - news), the leading provider of functional verification automation, today announced that Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq:RMBS - news) has joined Verisity's Pure IP(TM) program to supply an automated methodology for ensuring accurate integration of Rambus' intellectual property (IP) cells into customer designs. As a member of the Pure IP program, Rambus can deliver IP cells with verification toolkits written in the market-proven e verification language, significantly easing the IP integration process.

"Rambus is committed to providing the tools our customers need to be successful. We have used Verisity's functional verification tools for quite some time and have been pleased with the results they have provided," said Frank Fox, vice president of the RDRAM Standards Division at Rambus Inc. "Rambus joined the Pure IP Program to simplify the integration process for our customers."

"We are pleased to have such a significant IP designer as Rambus teaming with Verisity to provide their customers with a more streamlined integration methodology," said Moshe Gavrielov, chief executive officer for Verisity. "We have a long standing successful relationship with Rambus, and this commitment represents a key endorsement of our technology and the e language."

The Pure IP toolkits contain checking and coverage analysis capabilities from the core's original verification environment that aid customers in integrating the IP into their systems. The toolkits act as an invisible wrapper around the IP, allowing customers to automatically check for adherence to the rules and flag incorrect usage as well as measure the coverage of the IP interface. The first IP to be shipped with an e verification toolkit is the RDRAM® Memory Controller (RMC).

The Pure IP Program

Verisity's Pure IP program eases the development, delivery and integration of IP. The program enables IP developers to thoroughly verify their IP prior to delivery, then package and transfer their knowledge of the IP and integration rules in an executable form through verification toolkits. The toolkits are delivered with the cores and contain a bus functional model (BFM) and checking and coverage analysis capabilities to aid customers in integrating the IP into their system. Customers using the toolkits can automatically check for correctness of the integration and measure the interface coverage between the IP and the system.
